About Pickerino

Every comment in. One name out.

Pickerino picks random winners from the comments on an Instagram post or YouTube video. It collects the comments for you, shows you what it found, and picks — all in your browser, free, with no cap on how many entries it will look at.

Why most pickers miss entries

Most giveaway pickers quietly miss entries. Tools built on Instagram's official API can only read posts you own, and truncate mid-import often enough that one major vendor documents the symptom publicly. Nested replies aren't reachable through that API at all. Tools that don't need a login usually cap the free tier at 100–150 comments — the same truncation, wearing a price tag.

On a tag-a-friend giveaway the replies are the entries, so a picker that stops at the few Instagram shows inline is choosing from a fraction of the people who entered.

How Pickerino reads everything

Our free Chrome extension reads the post using your own logged-in session, so it sees every comment you can see — including on posts you don't own, which the official Instagram API will not return at all. Entries stream into this page as they arrive, so you can set your rules while it works.

It expands every reply thread rather than stopping at the few shown inline. Requests pace themselves and slow down if Instagram pushes back. Collection keeps running if you close this tab, and picks up where it left off if it's interrupted.

Automatic collection needs the extension, so it only works in Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers on a computer. Uploading a CSV of comments works in any browser.

Every run ends with a receipt: how many comments were collected against the platform's own reported total, how many were replies, how many requests it took, and how many had to be retried. When the numbers don't match, we tell you the likely reason rather than rounding down and calling it complete.

The record

Winners are picked by shuffling the entry list with a random seed. Download the record and you get the comments, the rules that turn them into entries, and that seed in one file, along with a fingerprint of the comments you can publish with the winners. Anyone can drop it into the verifier, check that the entry list follows from those comments, and confirm the winners are exactly who the pick produced. Edit a single entry and the record stops matching; edit a comment and its fingerprint no longer matches the one you published.

Privacy

Comments go from the post straight to your browser, and the pick happens there. Two things do reach our web host: winners' profile pictures, which are loaded through it and cached for up to a day, and the winners' usernames in a share link, which are part of its address. No sign-up, no premium tier, no entry limit. The source is public, so you can read exactly how the comments are collected and how winners are chosen. The details are on the privacy page.
